Good Neighbors Tanzania is looking for individuals to join our highly motivated team in the following role;
Position: Senior Income Generation Officer
Reports to: Agriculture & Microfinance Coordinator
Location: Head Office, Dar es Salaam
Contract Duration: 1 Year (Contract extension is subject to funding availability, performance or/and mutual agreement).
Under the overall authority of the Country Director (CD) of Good Neighbors Tanzania (GNTZ), the Income Generation Officer is responsible trading will be primarily responsible for managing trading between cooperatives and social enterprises in each Good Neighbors Partnership Countries involved in Africa Grain Network (AGN) project.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Search for suppliers and forwarders of maize and other grains in Tanzania
- Search for importers of maize and other grains in other countries
- Monitor each procedure of trading among countries from order to acquisition of grains
- Write and review trading documents such as quotation, invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and bill of lading
- Provide professional advice and assistance for trading among countries
- Collaborate with stakeholders during trading procedures including government officials, traders, forwarders and GN entities
- Schedule and implement business trips to facilitate trading activities between any regional area in Tanzania and neighbouring countries
- Perform any other duties related to IG activities as may be assigned
Qualification, experiences and competencies
- Bachelor’s degree or above in one of majors, Economics, Trade and Management
- At least 3 years of experience in trading area as a trade practitioner and a forwarder etc.
- Good knowledge on computer Microsoft Office Packages (Ms. Word, Ms. Excel, Ms.Access, Ms. Publisher Power Point)
- Good knowledge in trading
- Understanding of supply chain about grain markets of Tanzania
- Strong collaboration, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional time, task, and resource management skills
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, coaching, verbal and written communication
