Everton 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur: Robert Vilahamn’s side come from behind to draw in WSL

Tottenham hit back from two goals down to secure a point at Everton in the Women’s Super League.

The Toffees started brightly as they maintained the form which saw them hold Arsenal to a draw last weekend, going ahead after just 10 minutes.

Sara Holmgaard arrowed a powerful finish past Rebecca Spencer to open the scoring before Justine Vanhaevermaet bundled in from close range just five minutes later when Spurs failed to clear a corner.

It was an uncharacteristically strong start for an Everton side who have struggled in front of goal this season, and they continued to press Spurs in a bid to extend their lead.

But the visitors had regularly tested Toffees goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan and reduced the deficit before the break when Drew Spence tapped into an open goal after a mix-up involving the Everton goalkeeper.

Another moment of miscommunication brought Spurs level after the restart, Bethany England converting from close range after Tottenham gained possession in the box.
