About the job
Main Purpose:
The role holder responsible for all issues pertaining to CNG in the country for all HSE matters in respect to inform, guide, and protecting the company, its employees, community, contractors and other relevant stakeholders in the course of exercising plans and day to day activities.
He/she Will be responsible for ensuring that the company has in place necessary and robust health, safety and environmental policies, system controls to deliver its legislative and regulatory duties, including duty of care to all employees. He/she Will also be responsible to advise the management team and employees of their specific HSE duties in relation to CNG and Will be responsible to providing a report to n the compliance with the Project.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Will act as the focal point and leader for CNG business in Puma Tanzania
- Ensure competency of the to deliver its primary functions
- Act as the custodian of CNG HSE and ensure HSE is being managed within the line
- Sets and maintains all HSE CNG plans for Puma Tanzania as a whole and reporting these regularly
- Assist in the setting and implementation of relevant audit plans and monitor and follow-through corrective actions.
- Present to Puma Energy’s local management on HSE requirements, plans and performance
- Represent Puma Energy Tanzania at relevant industry forums and working groups if any within Tanzania or outside the country.
- Ensure adequate and robust incident/ emergency and crisis management capability is in place in
- Puma Energy, and ensure this is exercised to maintain competency and readiness.
- Assist the HSE team in ensuring that Puma Energy Golden rules are implemented/ exercised in the CNG business.
- Making regular site inspections
- Keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation
- Undertaking risk assessments, Identifying potential hazards, and Determining ways of reducing risks
- Liaising with relevant authorities
- Organising/attending health and safety meetings
- Safely handling hazardous substances
- Compiling statistics
- Making recommendations following accidents/incidents
- Keeping up to date with developments within the profession
- Making presentations to groups of employees/managers.
- Providing health and safety training courses for employees
- Investigating/recording incidents, accidents, complaints and cases of ill health
- Writing internal health and safety strategies
- Drawing-up safe operational procedures
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in HSE professional role.
- Be of strong background in HSE in oil and gas but also knowledge of statutory gas legislation and regulations.

Education:
- Undergraduate University degree in Health and Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Safety or Risk management, environmental studies, or operations management; or hazardous materials management certification
