Position: Regional Project Coordinator

On behalf of our prominent client with Several 5-star Lodge in Northern Circuit and one in Zanzibar we are looking for qualified and interested candidates to join client team for the above role

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly manage and assume responsibility for a team of +/- 10 people
  • Co-ordinate, plan and assume overall responsibility for the procurement and distribution of all necessary supplies to the company’s 7 lodges/camps, located on the northern circuit and in Zanzibar.
  • Coordinate vendor activity, contracting and negotiations
  • Establish, monitor and maintain optimal pricing with vendors
  • Review and approve purchase orders for compliance with company policy and ordering requirements
  • Take on the responsibility for efficient and cost-effective scheduling of deliveries
  • Provide necessary support for the lodges and co-ordinate the constant communication of order status
  • Maintain and improve proficiency in computerised ERP systems; be literate and functional with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the departmental budget
  • Participate actively in the strategy and direction of the procurement department
  • Evaluate existing purchasing policy and recommend changes as needed, with a focus on continuously improving all aspects of the procurement process
  • Evaluate existing and potential suppliers; recommend and implement changes in suppliers, with the goal of improving the availability of supplies and to continually improve pricing and delivery standards
  • Make recommendations on the use of substitute product
  • Devise and implement methods to sell or dispose of dead and slow-moving inventory
  • Actively drive recycling and sustainability practices into buying decisions
  • Assist in the hiring, training, evaluating, supervising and terminating of the department personnel
  • Supervise weekly and monthly stock counts or as an when deemed necessary
  • Prepare monthly management reports

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated success managing inventory and logistics
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic sourcing
  • Demonstrated competency in budgeting, forecasting and planning
  • Demonstrated competency hiring, developing and evaluating employees to achieve company and personal objectives
  • Proven history of profit and loss management to maximize financial performance
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, inventory/warehouse management and distribution software
  • Willing to travel when required
  • Must be fluent in English. Fluency in Swahili an added advantage

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or stock management or similar (preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in similar managerial position (5 years preferred)
  • Wholesale, distribution experience required, managerial experience required
  • Superior abilities on MS Office products particularly Excel.
