The identities of three police officers who allegedly participated in the assault of a senior detective attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), who later died, can now be revealed.
The three officers – Sammy Rotich Cherono, Khadija Abdi Wako and Agnes Kerubo Mugo – are accused of involvement in the assault of Felix Kelian Kitosi, which took place on March 16, 2024. The three are currently being held at Riruta Police Station.
“All officers attached to Kikuyu Police Station are currently being held on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of Felix Kelian Kitosi. Further developments will follow,” the police report said.
Following the attack, Kitosi was rushed to Lang’ata Hospital before being transferred to Nairobi West Hospital.
Kitosi allegedly quarrelled with Mr Joseph Mwenda aka DJ Joe Mfalme after ramming a vehicle belonging to the latter. The accident took place at Kikuyu Police Station in Kiambu County.

The entertainer and his crew also joined the officers at the station but were later allowed to leave without recording a statement.
On the night of the incident, DJ Joe Mfalme was entertaining revellers at Club Texas Barbeque in Kikuyu Town. The deceased officer was also part of the crew.
The management of Club Texas Barbeque told Nairobi News that the incident did not take place on their premises as previously reported.
“I can assure you that the incident never happened at the club. Just follow the matter closely and you will know the truth. If it had happened here, we would have resolved the issue,” the manager said.
All the officers arrested along with DJ Joe Mfalme are expected to appear in court on Monday, March 25.
