March 27, 2024 – A 60-year-old man of Chainda compound in Lusaka has been arrested for Incest involving his granddaughter aged 11.
Police investigations revealed that the suspect has been having carnal knowledge of the Grade five pupil at different occasions between unknown dates in 2023 and March 23, 2024 around 11:00 hours when he was caught in the act by a concerned neighbour.
It was further revealed that the abuse used to happen before the girl goes to school.
It is alleged that the mother and other family members leave home early leaving the daughter with her grandfather alone at home.
Police were alerted and arrested the suspect.
The victim has been issued with a medical report form while the suspect is in Police custody.
And a 13-year-old girl was defiled by a 59-year-old man in Chirundu District.
The incident occurred on March 26, 2024 around 06:30 hours at Chiwena village in Chirundu District.
Police investigations revealed that the victim was ambushed on her way to the garden near the Kafue River.
They were found in the act by the victim’s mother who immediately alerted members of the community.
Police together with social welfare officers rushed to the scene of the incident and arrested the suspect.
The victim is currently receiving medical attention while the suspect is in Police custody
