Overview:
As the Head Accountant, you will be responsible for leading the accounting team of our client’s hotel chain, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their financial reporting processes. You will play a key role in financial planning, analysis, and compliance, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting and financial management functions, including but not limited to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance reviews.
- Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and make recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, taxation laws, and regulations in Nigeria, and ensure compliance and adherence to applicable requirements.
- Evaluate and implement accounting software and ERP systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of at least 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation laws and regulations in Nigeria.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
