How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?
The Advisor – Advocacy, Communication, and Partnership (ACP Advisor) will play a key role in supporting Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) Tanzania’s projects. These include a comprehensive range of HIV/AIDS, TB, and Family Planning (FP) activities. The ACP Advisor will collaborate closely with the Country Director and the External Affairs team at our HQ Office to develop and implement EGPAF Tanzania’s communication, advocacy, and partnership strategies, building awareness of the availability, accessibility, and utilization of integrated health services in regions such as Kilimanjaro, Singida, Tabora, Manyara, Arusha, and Dodoma. This role will position EGPAF Tanzania as a leader in ending pediatric AIDS and driving improvements in HIV, TB services for children, adolescents, and their families.

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?
- Leverage EGPAF Tanzania’s programmatic and research expertise to position the organization as a thought leader in ending AIDS in children.
- Lead the development and dissemination of communication and advocacy products, including documenting EGPAF impact stories, best practices, research findings, and project achievements.
- Identify and shape stories from EGPAF’s work for use in media, the EGPAF website, blog, and social media platforms.
- Collaborate with key allies and stakeholders to influence policy and resources, advocating for improved HIV services, particularly for children and adolescents.
- Produce and ensure quality assurance of all communication products, branding, and visibility materials for EGPAF Tanzania.
- Update and implement the ACP strategy, ensuring EGPAF maintains existing partners while securing new ones.
- Identify and nurture relationships with key media contacts and expand media coverage of EGPAF’s work.
- Actively represent EGPAF with media and stakeholders, increasing awareness of pediatric AIDS and prevention issues.
Specific Responsibilities
- Policy Advocacy: Collaborate with the Senior Technical Managers and the Country Management Team (CMT) to identify and prioritize national-level advocacy policies.
- Vision and Expert Advice: Provide technical leadership in developing and monitoring EGPAF’s communication, advocacy, and partnership strategy. Make viable recommendations on communication and advocacy strategies that support EGPAF’s vision in Tanzania.
- Networking, Partnership, and Corporate Engagement: Strengthen key partnerships and collaborate with NGOs, government counterparts, and bilateral partners to advance EGPAF’s mission.
- Communication, Media Relations, Positioning, and Branding: Ensure EGPAF is recognized for its expertise, and effectively communicate EGPAF’s work in program implementation, research, and advocacy.
- Documentation and Dissemination: Support the documentation and dissemination of success stories, research findings, and quarterly reports. Maximize EGPAF’s exposure through social media in collaboration with the global teams.
Qualifications
To be successful, you will have:
- Have at least 5 years of experience in communications and advocacy, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mass communication or a related field.
- Experience in communication, advocacy, and partnership management within the health sector, with knowledge of Tanzania’s health landscape.
- Strong interpersonal relations, with the ability to build effective collaborations.
- Basic graphic design skills to produce visually appealing communication materials.
- The ability to work quickly, think innovatively, and produce high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage strategies, plans, and budgets.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in pediatric HIV/AIDS programming, policy advocacy, or media relations.
- Familiarity with the USG’s branding rules and regulations.
Additional Information
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) began supporting HIV and AIDS programming in Tanzania in 2003 and established a country office in 2004. Since then, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other key partners, EGPAF has expanded its scope to include integrated HIV, GBV, TB, and Family Planning services. EGPAF Tanzania’s efforts focus on client-centered approaches that address gaps in health service delivery and improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations, including children and adolescents. EGPAF’s work in Tanzania is supported by multiple global and regional initiatives aimed at building sustainable and locally-led health systems.
