Job Description
• Monitor the performance of the Credit Portfolio and maintain its good quality as well as ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Ensure proper implementation of the bank’s credit policies and procedures as well as regulatory compliances.
• Manage and control the quality of the credit portfolio by following approved policies and procedures.
• Identifying, measuring, and managing credit risk across a range of on and off-balance sheet assets.
• Identify early warning signals and take immediate remedial measures to mitigate any risks involved.
• Monitor and daily follow–up on overdue accounts and ensure that the numbers of overdue outstanding are reduced timely.
• Ensure that all overdue with significant risks to the bank are reported to Management and efforts are made to ensure they are regularized, or appropriate action is taken timely.
• Ensure Bank provisions are reduced/minimized through vigorous follow-up on account regularization and avoidance of any account falling into NPA.
• Issuance of Demand notices and reminders to borrowers in default demanding payment of overdue as per bank credit policy.
• Follow up on the expiry of credit facilities and communicate with the Relationship Managers to ensure timely renewal of credit facilities as per the bank credit policy.
• Conducting visits accompanied by assigned relationship managers to borrowers whose facilities are overdue to discuss business performance and devise turnaround strategies.
• Arrange Daily/ weekly/ Monthly meetings to discuss Credit Portfolio Performance with relationship managers and Regional Managers.
• Ensure all terms and conditions stipulated during the credit sanctioning process are adhered to as per bank credit policy and follow up with Relationship Managers on any pending items.
• Regularly assessing the sanctioned and renewed credit facilities to ensure they meet environmental and social compliance requirements.
• Working with the credit origination team during the credit sanctioning process to identify potential environmental and social risks associated and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Continuously reviewing and updating environmental and social compliance practices to reflect changes in regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Compiling and reporting environmental and social performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders as and when requested.
• Assisting the Credit Origination & Monitoring Manager to identify market trends and formulate strategies to define the department’s direction in the future regarding credit end-to-end process.
