Position purpose
The EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management) Manager will oversee the entire lifecycle of the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Management (EPCM) aspects of the Nyanzaga project. This role ensures the project will be delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the EPCM process for Nyanzaga project from inception through to commissioning.
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with other departments.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are met.
- Ensure all project activities are compliant with local regulations, company policies, and international standards.
- Oversee the design and engineering activities, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Oversee construction activities to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Manage construction contractors and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues or deviations from the project plan.
- Manage the procurement process, including the selection of contractors, negotiation of contracts, and management of supplier relationships.
- Ensure that all materials and services are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner, while meeting quality and safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain a robust supply chain to support project execution.
Qualification and competence required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Mining, or related field). A master’s degree in project management or a related discipline is an advantage.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in project management within the mining industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in EPCM projects.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale gold mining projects in Africa or similar challenging environments.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple contractors and suppliers.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
