THE ORGANIZATION
Search for Common Ground (Search) is a world-wide Non-Profit Organization with the primary objective to change the way the world deals with conflict, away from adversarial approaches towards collaborative Solutions.
THE PROJECT
Mozambique-Tanzania Borderlands/Daraja la Amani | Pontes de Paz Project aims to foster peace and stability in the border regions of Southern Tanzania and Northern Mozambique, with the overarching goal of bolstering community resilience against the influence of violent extremist groups. It recognises that addressing violent extremism in conflict-prone areas necessitates comprehensive strategies considering broader conflict dynamics. Central to its approach is the belief that resilience can only be cultivated through collaborative efforts involving key government, security, and community stakeholders on both sides of the border.
REQUEST FOR SERVICES
Conflict Stability and Security Fund – East Africa (CSSF) wishes to engage suitable qualified auditors to undertake an external audit of the financial statements of (Mozambique-Tanzania Borderlands/Daraja la Amani | Pontes de Paz Project) implemented by Search for Common Ground (Search) during the financial year 2023/2024.
OBJECTIVES OF THE AUDIT
1). Establish whether Search project accounts and reports have been prepared in all material respects, in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA) for the project specific financial statements/reports with the project’s accounting principles.
2). Establish whether CSSF external funds have been used in accordance with the conditions of the relevant financing agreements, with due attention to economy, effectiveness, and efficiency, and only for the purposes for which the financing was provided. The relevant financing agreements will be provided upon hire.
3). Check and express an opinion whether the financial statements of project revenues and expenditure prepared by Search during the period under audit are complete and accurate.
The Audit will be implemented in Tanzania and Mozambique.
The audit will end 31/05/2024.
CLOSING
An internal committee will assess the applications received, on the basis of:
1) Proven Track record of External Auditor experience for a national and international level.
2) The number of years of experience the auditor has in working with FCDO projects and NGOs.
3) Audit knowledge
4) Cost of procurement and value for money.
