The late TikToker Brian Chira, known for his comical and controversial online engagements, will be laid to rest in Githunguri, Kiambu County on Tuesday March 26, 2024.

The popular online content creator died on March 16, reportedly in a fatal accident.

Chira was raised by his grandmother, who accompanied him on his final journey and rode in the hearse that carried his remains.

Chira’s body was kept at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital morgue on the Thika Super Highway in Kiambu County.

Thousands of mourners, mostly from the TikTok community, as well as friends and family, gathered at the facility to bid him farewell.

Notable fellow TikTokers, including Nyar Janeko, were also in attendance.
Janeko and Chira had often livestreamed their interactions on TikTok, attracting a large following.

The 23-year-old content creator’s coffin was dark brown in colour.

After the viewing, Chira’s body was taken to Githunguri for his final farewell, escorted by a black hearse in a motorcade led by two police officers in full security uniform and an official police motorcycle.

Chira’s grandmother, identified as Esther Njeri, sat beside the hearse driver as they escorted her grandson to his final resting place.

During the funeral ceremony, Chira was remembered as an entertainer who touched many lives through his comedic content on TikTok.

“He will be remembered for his signature catchphrase: ‘I am Chira, Brian Chira, na kama wewe si pesa huwezi nipatia stress (if you are not money, you can’t stress me),’ said George Mungai, a friend who delivered the eulogy.

Born on January 20, 2001, Chira was not only a TikTok content creator but also a trained beautician.

“Before opening his beauty spa, he took a beautician course where he learnt to do manicures and pedicures,” mourners were told.

Following his death, the TikTok community rallied together and raised over Sh10 million to support Chira’s grandmother, part of which will be used to buy land and build her a house, fulfilling Chira’s wish to have a comfortable home.
