Brothers fined for turning their Suzuki Wagon into a helicopter for weddings

Two brothers in India have been fined for converting their car into an imitation helicopter with the aim of hiring it out for weddings.

The vehicle, a Suzuki Wagon R, was bought for 100,000 rupees (£946) and underwent extensive alterations over several weeks at the duo’s makeshift workshop in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

The brothers, Ishwardin Prajapati, 36, and Parmeshwardin Prajapati, 37, attached rotor blades to the roof and fabricated a tail and other parts of bodywork from sheet metal in an attempt to make the car look like a helicopter.

However, their plans for renting out the vehicle are yet to get off the ground and were dealt a setback when police temporarily seized the “car copter”.

The brothers were fined 2,000 rupees (£19) for illegally modifying their car, police said.
