Following his arrest on March 23, in connection with the death of a DCI detective, Felix Kelian Kitosi, popular DJ Joe Mfalme has broken his silence.
In a press statement released on 24 March, the renowned entertainer whose real name is Joseph Mwenda expressed his condolences to the family and friends affected by the tragic incident and reiterated his commitment to co-operate fully with the ongoing investigation.
In the statement, addressed to his supporters, friends and well-wishers, DJ Joe Mfalme and his team pledged their cooperation with the investigating authorities.
The statement began, “This is a public statement intended solely to address the recent developments surrounding the unfortunate incident that has come to the attention of the general public.”

It continued: “First and foremost, we would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and all those affected by this unfortunate incident. DJ Joe Mfalme and his team have been working closely with the investigating authorities since the incident occurred”.
The statement stressed DJ Joe Mfalme’s commitment to cooperate with the investigation and reiterated his condolences to those affected.
However, given the ongoing nature of the investigation and its sensitivity, the statement noted a reluctance to provide further comment at this time.
“We deeply appreciate your understanding and unwavering support,” the statement concluded. “We will endeavour to update you as soon as the investigation is complete. Thank you.”
The release of the statement comes amid widespread speculation and interest in the circumstances surrounding the incident.

DJ Joe Mfalme, known for his vibrant presence in the entertainment industry, now finds himself at the centre of a legal maelstrom, the details of which have yet to be fully clarified.
Meanwhile, three police officers who allegedly participated in the assault of the senior detective – Sammy Rotich Cherono, Khadija Abdi Wako and Agnes Kerubo Mugo – were arrested and are currently being held at Riruta Police Station.
“All officers attached to Kikuyu Police Station are currently being held on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of Felix Kelian Kitosi. Further developments will follow,” the police report said.
