How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?
The Human Resources Intern reports to the Senior Human Resources and Administration
Manager and Provides specialized HR professional support in day – to –day managementn and administration of the Human Resource function in alignment with Foundation business strategy.
No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?
Policy and Procedures
Work with supervisor on administrative implementation of HR policies and procedures that are in line with staff contracts, employee handbook, labor laws and field operational manual
Report Writing
Conduct monthly trends and report analysis on various HR indices
Provide monthly report highlighting Resourcing Status, Performance Review Status, Engagement Action Plans and other HR actions.
Updating Human Resources data base
Business Partnering and Headcount management
Capture feedback from field offices on an ongoing basis and ensure that the feedback is acted upon to bring in operational effectiveness
Follow up with supervisors to have accurate and up to date Job Descriptions for all roles
Follow up with Payments sent to Finance
Support with administrative activities such as preparation of memos and approval process
Responsible for preparation of Safety and Security reports
Alternative Focal Person
Assisting on Recruitment & on boarding
Administrative facilitation of recruitments including Preparing Interview Schedules, background screening and reference checks for final job candidates.
Ensure availability of accurate and up to date Job Descriptions for all roles
Effective filling of all related documents for all staff, ensures all required employee documentation is obtained, correctly filed and updated as necessary.
Ensures complete and up-to-date employment documentation and confidential Handling of employee information.
Track and monitor probationary periods
Filing and updating employees and other HR files.
Performance Management and Learning and Development
Ensure proper implementation of scheduled performance reviews by Supervisors with their staff in a timely manner each year, whilst ensuring all reviews are recorded on performance management system within timeline.
Provide Administrative support to staff on Tuition Assistance, Trainings and online learning platform.
Track and monitor performance improvement plans.
Exit Management
Facilitate separation of staff as per internal policy and procedures of exit management.
Organize exit interview, return of office equipment and terminal benefits.
Ensures proper planning and preparation in respect of departing staff, including fulfilment of all handover responsibilities, correct payment of terminal dues.
Compensation and benefits
Support HR administration of merit process and contract renewal
Providing support in managing employees benefits by following up with Health Insurance, life Insurance, Vodacom and other Vendors on various requests sent by employees.
Carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by the Senior Human Resources Manager.
To be successful, you will have:
A university degree from a recognized Institute in Human Resources Management/ Sociology/Business Administration, Public Administration or related.
Understanding of the Tanzanian Labor Laws and its application.
University Graduate or Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in Human Resources Management, Administration and Finance departments.
Basic Computer skills of Microsoft word excel and PowerPoint
Bonus points if you have:
Report writing and presentations
Ability to run HR –related systems is an added advantage
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Details oriented with excellent organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Prior HR or administrative experience is an added advantage.
Fluent speaking, reading, and writing of English Language

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) began supporting HIV and AIDS programming in Tanzania in 2003 and established a country office in 2004. Ever since, in close collaboration and partnership with the Ministry of Health Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children and Presidents Office Regional Administration and Local Government, EGPAF expanded scope to supporting quality comprehensive and integrated HIV, GBV, TB and Family planning services in the supported regions. Recently, EGPAF in collaboration with consortium partners Amref Health Tanzania, Engender Health, D-tree International and Matchboxology won the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID)/Tanzania Afya Yangu Northern is designed around client – centred approaches to address gaps in HIV, TB and Family Planning (FP) service delivery, while continuously building and transferring the capacity of local stakeholders for sustainable and country- led ownership. USAID Afya Yangu Northern will focus on intensely on direct service delivery across all regions in early project years, ensuring that gaps to epidemic control are identified, and tailored solutions are designed to meet the needs of vulnerable populations
