AKEST is looking to hire the following positions based in Dar es Salaam:

ICT Support Associate- Aga Khan Education Service Tanzania

Position Summary

The IT Support is responsible for providing maintenance assistance in all computers and related equipment’s. The IT Support will be expected to work with Aga Khan Nursery and Primary schools.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure and maintain computer hardware, network and software systems
Install and maintain communication equipment for wired and wireless networks
Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of faulty ICT equipment, liaising with respective departments and external service providers
Provide systems support to all teaching and non-teaching staff
Monitor network and systems servers and peripherals to ensure smooth operation
Assist in the implementation and support of all ICT initiatives and information systems
Implement approved security controls and measures to safeguard information system assets
Assist in the implementation of ICT policies and Standard Operating Procedures
Ensure compliance with ICT policies and procedures Provide technical training to users of ICT services as required
Resolve technical issues and report through use of the ICT Helpdesk system
Assist schools in identifying and quantifying ICT needs with guidance from the central office ICT
Ensure regular updates to operating systems, anti-malware solutions and other systems for all computers
Maintain an updated inventory record for ICT hardware, software and network equipment
Maintain and support Audio Visual (AV) systems for learning spaces
Assist with technical support for CCTV related matters
Document technical issues and resolutions for future reference and continuous improvement
Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements relevant to the ICT support role
Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly and effectively to the ICT needs of all users
Collaborate with other ICT team members and departments to ensure cohesive and efficient ICT operations across all schools and units
Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Qualification and experience:

Applicants should have the following qualification and experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Information System for an accredited college or university with knowledge of Information technology into details.
At least 2-3 years’ experience in Information Technology practicing.
School Librarian- Aga Khan Education Service Tanzania

Position Summary

The school librarian is responsible for organizing, managing, and providing access to information resources in a library setting. He/she is responsible for selecting and acquiring books, journals, databases, and other materials for the library’s collection, as well as cataloging and classifying them for easy retrieval by library users. He/she may develop and deliver programs and services that meet the needs of the school, such as literacy programs, book clubs, or cultural events.

Key Responsibilities

Organizing resources in an accessible way such as shelving, cataloguing, classifying, and reference.
managing and supporting the provision of reading lists and allocating length of loans;
Developing and managing collections of books and journals (both paper and electronic);
Creating, updating and managing electronic and printed information resources;
Selecting, acquiring and cataloguing information using library and information database;
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with academic staff and students;
Contributing to academic course development and liaising with academic departments;
Liaising with library colleagues on other campuses;
Managing the library block, furniture and equipment;
Performing library stock taking;
Maintain circulation files, records and statistics
Providing library services in response to the information needs of library users;
keeping up to date with relevant professional developments in the library sector;
Performing any duty assigned from time to time

Position Requirements:

Applicants should have the following qualification and experience:

Bachelor degree in library studies or Diploma in Library Management from School of Library Archives and Documentation Studies(SLADS).
Bachelor of Education will be additional advantage.
A minimum of Two years’ experience in a library leadership role in a school.
Proficient in written and spoken English.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organizational skills, time management, and ability to work independently.
Good computer skills – search Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email
