Residents of several Nairobi estates are advised to brace themselves for scheduled power cuts as Kenya Power undertakes maintenance and upgrade works on the electricity network.
Kenya Power has released a list of the areas to be affected by the outages, which are scheduled to take place on various dates during the week of March 25-28 and will affect several neighbourhoods including Riara Road, Marula Lane, Brookside Drive, Ngong Road, Kibera, Waiyaki Way, Kikuyu Road, Naivasha Road, South C and Kawangware.
The areas affected and the dates of the disruptions are as follows:
1. Riara Road area: Monday, March 25, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This includes parts of Oloitoktok Road, Mararo Avenue, Argwings Kodhek Road, Quickmart Lavington, Korosho Road, Oleodume Road, Riara Road, parts of Ngong Road, Kenya Science, Jamhuri Harlequins Court and adjacent customers.
2. Marula Lane Area: Monday, March 25 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This includes part of Marula Lane, Ololua Ridge, KEPHIS, Judicial Academy, part of KCB and adjacent customers.
3. Brookside Drive Area: Tuesday, March 26 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This includes Brookside Drive, Grevillea Groove, Muguga Green, Brookside Gardens PKF, Safaricom HQ 3, Mua Park Estate, Montessori and adjacent customers.
4. Ngong Road and Kibera Area: Tuesday March 26 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm This includes part of Miotoni Road, Lenana School, Bee Keeping, Ngando Area, Gikuyu Close, Mama Wahu, Meteorological Department, Polo Club, Jamhuri Show Ground, Rowland Camp, NCC Askari Houses, Ngong Forest Station, Ayany, Suna Estate, Santack Estate, Professional Centre, Posta Playground, Talanta Academy Stadium and adjacent customers.

5. Waiyaki Way and Raphta Road Area: Wednesday, March 27 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This includes parts of Waiyaki Way, parts of Ring Road Westlands, Raphta Road, Lantana Road, Sports Road, David Osieli Road, East Church Road, Church Road, St. Michaels Road, Mahiga Mairu Road, Mangu Gardens and adjacent customers.
6. Kikuyu Road and Naivasha Road Area: Thursday, March 28 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This includes Naivasha Road, Kikuyu Road, Waithaka, Ruthimitu School, Muhuri Road, Dagoretti High, Nembu School, Kagondo, Kiuru, Ndwaru, Gathondeki, Gichungo, DO Waithaka, Maono Estate, Mithonge, K-Rep & Equity Bank Kawangware and adjacent customers.
7. South C Area: Thursday, March 28, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm This includes Gandhi Avenue, Kodi Road, Summerdale Hotel, Sumba Road, Rio Hotel, Kisauni Road, Nairobi West Hospital, Madaraka Roundabout, part of Muhoho Avenue, Muthaiti Avenue, Absa Nairobi West and adjacent customers.
8. Kawangware area: Thursday, March 28 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This includes parts of Kawangware 46, Kawangware Sokoni, KBS Kawangware, Precious Blood School and adjoining customers.
In addition, parts of Kajiado County including Namanga, Bissil and Kajiado Town will experience interruptions on Thursday March 28 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
