Sania Mirza is a star athlete from India who made her country proud by becoming the No.1 in tennis and also paved the way for so many women athletes from South Asia. She was married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. The ex-couple shared a son and they got divorced not too long ago with Shoaib Malik marrying actress Sana Javed. Sania Mirza has handled the matter with a lot of dignity and she is still loved and respected in Pakistan. She recently took retirement from her sports career and she has been busy with other endeavours.
Talking to Indian Publication, Firstpost, Sania Mirza opened up about becoming a star at the age of 16. She said that she was a public figure by 16 and now she is 37, thus she has lived most of her life in the public eye. She said that she has always tried to be as authentic in front of the cameras as she can be.
She said that showing vulnerability to the world is not easy. There have been times when she will smile in front of the world when she may just have had a meltdown minutes ago. She said that she sometimes shows her vulnerability but as a public figure, you cannot always do that as you may get taken advantage of.
