Donald Trump, the former US president, has ordered 30 milkshakes and “some chicken” at a surprise stop at a Chick-fil-A restaurant while in Atlanta.
“It’s the Lord’s chicken,” Trump said, in reference to the chain owner’s Christian beliefs. Its corporate mission statement is “to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A”.
Mr Trump also asked staff to “take care of the customers”, though it was unclear if the former president paid for the items himself.
He has been in Atlanta campaigning to secure his victory in the Republican primaries, as well as to drum up support for his presidential bid in the 2024 US elections, set to take place in November.
