Job Purpose:
You will manage the Water Treatment Plant to produce the required grades and quantities of water for the distillery and associated utilities. You’ll also oversee the weighbridge, ensuring accurate control of receipts (raw materials) and sales (alcohol), with proper documentation.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the Water Treatment Plant is efficiently operating such that the distillery’s water requirements are consistently met in terms of quality and quantity
  • Process deviations and equipment breakdowns are attended to timeously to ensure the efficient running of the plant.
  • The water treatment plant’s performance, safety, housekeeping, quality and environmental standards are achieved and always maintained, coordinating such activities as necessary with the Shift Manager
  • The required information is logged down, captured on computer (if necessary) and communicated to the Shift Manager
  • All receipts of raw materials into the plant and alcohol leaving the site must be properly recorded and forwarded on a shift basis to the Logistics Foreman
  • Records relevant data on log sheets hourly and per shift
  • Reports all quality deviations and irregularities and together with the Shift Manager make required plant adjustments.
  • Conducts visual checks and inspections of the Water Treatment Plant and associated utilities.
  • Ensure weighbridge is clean all the time.
  • Daily check that weighbridge platform is free of foreign objects and material.
  • Check that all weighbridge facility is operational, report any fault immediately.
  • Ensure weighing is done correctly and documents kept.
  • Assist with the execution of duties in other areas of the plant.

Job requirements:

  • Diploma in water treatment/chemistry/laboratory and science technology
  • At least 1 years in water treatment operation.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Mentally and physically fit.
  • Self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
  • Good communication skills in Swahili and English.
  • Ability to plan organize, lead and control.
  • Creative, innovative and team working skills.
  • Ability to work on shift duties including nights.

TERMS OF SERVICE:

The successful candidate will engage on Permanent Contract.
